Nyan Heroes, the team-based shooter game that draws inspiration from Overwatch and incorporates NFT assets on the Solana blockchain, has announced the return of its servers next week. This marks the start of the second phase of pre-alpha testing, scheduled to begin on May 8 and expected to run until May 26. Max Fu, the creative director and CEO of 9 Lives Interactive, revealed this information and did not rule out the possibility of extending the testing period.
This comeback is significant for Nyan Heroes, as it coincides with the launch of the game’s second season for its play-to-airdrop campaign. The new season introduces CATNIP points, in addition to the existing MEOW points, to expand the range of rewards available to players. CATNIPs are awarded based on player performance and provide a multiplier effect on the allocations for the upcoming NYAN token airdrop.
MEOW points, which were already part of the first season, are earned by completing various missions within the game. These missions include challenges like playing a specific number of matches or eliminating a certain number of opponents. With the inclusion of CATNIP points, player strategy and engagement will be even more rewarding.
The introduction of CATNIP rewards is a new feature for players who had already accumulated these points during the first season. Their points will be counted and validated for this new season. Additionally, players have the opportunity to earn CATNIP points outside the game environment by participating in social media activities through the Nyan Heroes play-to-airdrop panel.
