Cryptocurrency influencer Ben Armstrong arrested in Florida

Cryptocurrency influencer Ben Armstrong, known as “BitBoy,” was recently arrested in Florida. The arrest came after he announced on social media that a warrant had been issued for his arrest in connection with emails sent to a judge in Georgia.

I can now confirm that the warrants for my arrest are due to me sending emails (as my own attorney by the way) to the DISHONORABLE Kimberly Childs of @cobbcountygovt who has NOW DELETED her Twitter lmao. Public officials hiding corruption one day at a time. — The BitBoy (@BenArmstrongsX) March 21, 2025

Armstrong was taken into custody by authorities in Volusia County, Florida, on March 25, 2025, at 19:18 p.m. local time, as reported by the Volusia County Division of Corrections. Listed as a fugitive from justice, the situation further complicated his legal situation.

On March 21, in a post on X, Armstrong revealed that the emails were sent to Cobb County Superior Court Judge Kimberly Childs while he was representing himself. He also alleged that after the email exchange, Judge Childs proceeded to delete his social media accounts. So far, his legal representatives have remained silent on the case.

This episode is just the latest in a series of legal battles Armstrong has faced. In September 2023, he was arrested during a livestream, accusing a former business partner of stealing his Lamborghini. In March of that year, he was named in a class action lawsuit for promoting the Binance exchange, which was accused of selling unregistered securities — a case that was settled in August 2024 with a $340,000 settlement in which he and NBA star Jimmy Butler admitted no wrongdoing.

Armstrong has also participated in quirky public events, including a karate match in Mexico in February 2024, where he faced and defeated the creator of the “More Light” memecoin, who later described Armstrong as a “nice guy” with no hard feelings.

Armstrong’s latest arrest adds a layer of complexity to his already troubled career and raises questions about his ability to maintain influence within the cryptocurrency space. His troubled legal past begins to cast a shadow over his contributions to the development of blockchain technology.
